5 to 30 Heart Pumping Circuit Workout

Quick, intense workouts are my jam. It's why I love CrossFit - effective and efficient! There is seriously no better feeling than your heart beating fast, dripping in sweat, and pushing hard for one more rep. 

I've been experimenting lately with high intensity workouts with lighter weights. I personally love longer metabolic conditioning workouts with lighter weights or body weight that incorporates cardio movements. That's probably why Helen (21-15-9 kb swings, pull ups, running) and Murph (1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run) are my favorite CrossFit benchmark workouts (yes, Murph). Am I a psycho? Possibly.

I made up this workout in preparation for the CrossFit Open, which is currently in its second week. I had a sneaking suspicion that the Open workout would include dumbbell snatches ever since the inclusion of dumbbells was announced. Open workout 17.1 was a pretty fun one for me since lower weight + longer workout = my happy place. I finished in 19:21 and my only goal was to finish under the time cap so I was pretty happy with that score. My back was NOT happy, but hey, the Open only happens once a year.

Anyway, try out this workout! It's a great combo of weights, body weight, and cardio that will have you sweating up a storm in no time. I started the workout with a 25 minute interval run and then got into this circuit. Have fun!
